circle. After the Tiananmen Square massacre, she was allowed
to go to the Moscow Film Festival to talk about police weaponry.
At 21, she was allowed to go the United States briefly to study
film. Later, as a member of the People's Liberation Army she
was granted permission to stay in the United States. In 1997,
she was given a role in the film RED CORNER. The film led to
compliments by critics and wide international recognition. She
was also selected by PEOPLE MAGAZINE as one of the 25 most beautiful
people.
